5K COLOR DASH & 1 MILE RUN/WALK
Free t-shirt with registration - while supplies last
Ezekiel’s Journey is dedicated to Ezekiel, the son of Nathanael and Kaytlin Morgan who passed away as a newborn. Ezekiel was diagnosed during pregnancy with Trisomy 13. MAPS came alongside the Morgan’s and was able to provide love and support as they cared for Ezekiel throughout his journey on earth. The Morgan's received countless amounts of support and guidance through this journey while celebrating their son, but never received a bill.
The Morgan’s stated, “MAPS allowed us to come in for many ultrasounds and they saved pictures and videos of our son for us to take home. We were given a stuffed animal with Ezekiel's recorded heartbeat and they gave us books to help us process this journey. Our oldest son was gifted books from MAPS to help him cope with the loss of his brother. On top of maternity photos and family pictures on the day of delivery, we were granted many free hours of grief counseling after Ezekiel passed away.”
The support that the Morgan’s received was from the MAPS Eva’s Footprints program. Eva’s Footprints is a Perinatal Hospice program that offers compassionate support for parents and families who receive a life-limiting diagnosis. All proceeds and donations will go to MAPS to continue this support for future families.
Our 1 Mile walk/run invites anyone from child to Adult to participate in continuing Ezekiel's journey in a lighter and slower paced environment. This fun and noncompetitive race will take place on a gravel path that is relatively flat. Color stations will not be on this route. For participants signing up for the 1 mile, there will be an optional "Color Splash" to run through after the finish line!
Our 5K Color Dash invites anyone ready to experience color in a fun and noncompetitive atmosphere. Some of this race will involve slightly more hills and an uneven path to add to the experience. Participants will enjoy running through multiple color stations where color powder will be "splashed" on them as they race through!
Children 5 years old and younger are free to participate in the race.
Color Booth will be available for a donation of any amount to those looking to get a "color splash"!
For spectators and racers there will be free face painting and inflatable slide to enjoy! Pelican's SnoBalls will be available to purchase shaved ice. Southern Hawg BBQ Food Truck will also be available for purchase! Children 5 years old and younger are free to participate in the race.
Everyone is welcome to come out and support the runners/walkers, enjoy our family fun and learn more about Mountain Area Pregnancy Services and how they support the community!
All of the fun color powder is made with 100% food-grade cornstarch, baking soda, and approved food and cosmetic dyes. Color powder is completely, safe, non-toxic and biodegradable.
How to clean up after? Shake off any excess powder and throw your articles of clothing in the washing machine. The color powder is designed to wash out of most fabrics. It is suggested to wearing cotton-based material and leaving your fancy clothes at home. The color powder is safe on skin and hair and will wash away with a shower or two.
Don't forget your sunglasses! This color powder is safe and non toxic, however it is always more comfortable and fun to have sunglasses.
Bring white or light colored shirts for the most fun pictures! Our color powder will show up best on light colors that you don't mind staying colored if they powder doesn't all come off.
Bring the whole family! Ezekiel's Journey is for everyone to have fun. Free face painting booth will be available! Free inflatable slide will be set up for all to enjoy! Lots of family fun cheering on participants as they get dashed with color throughout the journey!
