Mission Statement

To be a relevant Christ-centered outreach ministry partnering with the churches of WNC by caring for, counseling and educating women and men regarding, or impacted by, an at-risk pregnancy.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential, and that this salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and not as a result of good works.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to perform good works.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pro-Life Asheville

Mountain Area Pregnancy Services believes that all lives are precious, valuable, and ordained by God. We work with women and families experiencing an unplanned pregnancy or a pregnancy with a life-limiting diagnosis to honor their baby’s life. At Mountain Area Pregnancy Services we craft special birthing plans for families experiencing difficult and challenging birth scenarios. With our ultrasound machine we provide images of their precious baby so they can see the heartbeat and outline of their hands anf feet, etc. For families who have experienced miscarriage or stillbirth, and are blessed with a new pregnancy, we record their new baby’s heartbeat for them so they have the assurance their new baby’s heartbeat is strong and active. Although MAPS realizes not all pregnancies yield a healthy baby, we work with families to honor the life of their child, no matter how short or long his or her life-span is projected to be.

Abortion Asheville

When a woman finds herself in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy, she is often scared and confused. She may not know where to turn for help, and abortion appears like the only option. At Mountain Area Pregnancy Services we discuss abortion and all the ramifications and side effects that come along with the procedure. We have volunteers who have experienced abortion who can describe it’s impact in one’s life. At MAPS we share the NC state policy regarding abortion, also known as “A Woman’s Right to Know” act, so that women are fully informed and educated as to their decisions. For women who have experienced abortion, MAPS offers free, abortion recovery one-on-one support to help them deal with the aftermath of their decision, regardless of how long ago they experienced the abortion.
